Slade Point is a coastal town and peninsular suburb in the Mackay Region, Queensland, Australia.[3][4] It takes its name from the Slade Point headland named by James Cook on his 1770 voyage. In the 2021 census, the suburb of Slade Point had a population of 3,450 people.[2]

The first British people to visit the area were the crew and passengers aboard the ketch Presto which pulled into the bay at Slade Point in June 1862 after having difficulty entering the
