If an upgrade fails at the atomic_unlink step, preserved site-packages directories are not restored while unwinding.

Can't share the entire log, but the relevant lines are:

  • install_command.py:827
  • install_command.py:583
  • fsutils.py:108
  • fsutils.py:220
