A small APS-C SLR system created by Sony using Konica Minolta's technologies and assets after the latter decided to withdraw from camera business in March 2006.
The range of cameras included both conventional SLR models with an optical viewfinder and SLT models with a translucent mirror and electronic viewfinder. All cameras were equipped with sensor-shift image stabilization. As for the lens lineup, it was inherited from Konica Minolta in 2005 and expanded with new models that cover the focal length range from ultra-wide angle to super telephoto.
