HOUSTON (Kyodo) -- Toronto Blue Jays rookie Kazuma Okamoto hit his 10th home run of the season in a 4-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday.
Batting third at third base, Okamoto went 2-for-4 with an RBI, including a first-inning solo homer to right center that opened the scoring at Tropicana Field.
"We still have a lot of games left. I want to keep preparing every day without fail," the 29-year-old said.
In other Major League Baseball action, Shohei Ohtani suffered his second loss of the season after surrendering two solo home runs in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 2-1 loss to the Houston Astros.
Ohtani (2-2) delivered a solid outing, allowing four hits, including two homers, and one hit batter while striking out eight over seven innings in an 89-pitch outing at Daikin Park.
But the 31-year-old right-hander was charged with the loss as the Dodgers' lineup managed just one run.
The two-way star, who was named the National League's Pitcher of the Month for the season-opening span through the end of April, did not bat.
