Odysseus fought in the Trojan War. In Roman versions of the story, he finds the Greek hero Achilles on the island of Skyros. They arrive at Troy and fight the Trojans for 10 years. Odysseus is wise and he helps the Greeks multiple times in the story. Him and another soldier named Diomedes help kill the Thracian Rhesus and steal his magic horses. When Achilles is killed by Trojan prince Paris, Odysseus and Ajax the Great carry the body back for burial. Odysseus also finds the son of Achilles, Neoptolemus and tell him to join the war. He invented the Trojan Horse, which helps the Greeks take the city of Troy and makes the Greeks win the war.
