The 50 journals used in FT rankings

The Financial Times has updated the list of 50 academic publications it uses to assess high quality research produced by scholars in leading business schools around the world.
It conducted a poll on changes to the “FT50” list last released in 2016 among the leadership of 200 business schools that took part in recent FT Global MBA, Executive MBA or Online MBA rankings, and held a wider series of consultations and analyses.
The new FT50 list removed three journals identified as less influential:
Human Relations
Journal of Business Ethics
Organization Studies
They have been replaced with three others judged more relevant (marked below with an * in the full list below):
The new journals all have high impact factors, top ratings from academic bodies including the Chartered Association of Business Schools, and contain a significant number of articles contributed by faculty from leading ranked institutions.
The FT research ranking review is ongoing, and is expected to lead to more modifications in the future, including efforts to distinguish highly regarded peer reviewed journals from other important research outputs influential among practitioners, such as Harvard Business Review and Sloan Management Review. Feedback is welcome.
