John Reed

Explainers Editor

John Reed joined the FT in 2000, and has worked as a foreign correspondent and business reporter on postings around the world. His assignments have included covering the Middle East, southern Africa, south Asia, south-east Asia, the global car industry, and Poland in the run-up to its accession to the EU.

John also contributed to the FT's coverage of the war in Ukraine in 2014 and 2022 and the Israel-Hamas war in 2023. His work has won several awards, including from the New York Financial Writers' Association, the Society of Publishers in Asia, and a Gerald Loeb Award.
